Hi everyone,
Please join us next week at Christie Pits to commemorate the one-year anniversary of Awdah Hathaleen’s murder.

The one-year memorial for Palestinian activist Awdah Hathaleen will be held at 6:30 PM at Christie Pits Park (Bloor Street side). The community gathering will honour his legacy, advocate for the rights of his village of Umm al-Khair, and demand an end to ongoing home demolitions.

Event and solidarity details can be tracked via Instagram. For background on the activist's life and the ongoing calls for accountability, refer to the Wikipedia entry on his killing.2 sitesChristie Pits Riot – 90th anniversary of the Christie Pits Riot. The community of Umm al-Khair in the West Bank is calling for people around
the world to host solidarity memorials to mark one year since the murder of
Awdah Hathaleen, who was shot dead by an Israeli settler on July 28th, 2025.
Settler-state attacks have been unceasing in the year since, as the
community endures escalating attempts to deny their children the right to
education, cut their water supply, and demolish their homes.

We are answering the call in Toronto on July 28th. Please join us.
